My Summarized Thoughts

I believe that overall the program was a success. Having said that I do think that at times we were rushed and that it might have been better if we had a smaller amount of "things" to be exposed to because to some the sheer number of tasks was daunting. I appreciated the fact that we had the option to not create a My Space account, I personally do not have one, nor do I have any desire to in the future. I believe that some of the sites and programs can be learned without creating an account. To some of us, creating a large number of accounts on numerous sites is uncomfortable. I personally know how to navigate My Space without an account and I believe that is possible with a number of programs. Overall I did learn a lot though and I believe that the program is very beneficial in the library field and also as a way to promote a lifetime of learning!

My Learning 2.0 Experience

Overall my Learning 2.0 experience was positive, although at times I did feel as though we were rushed. Some of the things that we learned I had already been exposed to and some were brand new. I do think that for some it became a task to be completed as quickly as possible. Perhaps we would get more in-dpeth learning if we had a smaller number of "things" to learn or be exposed to. Overall I believe that the program was a success!

Rollyo

I found the Rollyo site to be interesting. I created a searchroll that I titled "News". Here is the link: http://www.rollyo.com/index.html

Library Thing

I found this site to be so much fun! Here is the link to my "library": http://www.librarything.com/catalog/Blues_belle I hope that you like my selections!!

Image Generators

I played around with an avatar image generator. Here is the link: http://www.buscarmessenger.com/avatars.swf
It was interesting, but the faces were not realistic, but I suppose they never really are!

Libraries using podcasts

I visited the Grand Rapids Public Library website and looked at how they have been using podcasts to reach their customers. They use them for storytimes, book reviews and guest presentations. I believe that there are only positive uses of podcasts as far as libraries are concerned. The only drawback would be if customers did not know how to use them or could not locate them.

Podcasts

I found the Yahoo site to be very helpful in finding RSS feeds. The one that I selected for my bloglines account was a speech given by Senator Barack Obama on "Katrina Relief Spending Accountability and Securing Our Energy Future".
